Tompoes heeft een zwaar leven:

De lidcactussen bloeien alledrie tegelijk, hoewel voorheen twee cactusssen rond kerst bloeiden en een rond pasen.
Het zijn geen goede foto's, maar je ziet wel de verschillen. Opvallend is dat de lichtroze witte knoppen heeft, en de bloemen naarmate ze ouder worden ook steeds rozer worden. De knalroze heeft ook knalroze knoppen en verandert niet van kleur, de rode begint met groene knoppen, die steeds meer kleur gaan tonen en dan knalrood openen en knalrood blijven.

De kauwen verzamelen zich in de bomen verderop, voordat ze aan hun slaapvluchten beginnen. Lastig om scherp te stellen.


Afgevallen wingerdblad, maagdenpalm, robertskruid, en een Antaflupapiertje

Slecht nieuws, mailde ze. In juni leek het een besmettelijke ziekte en bleek het longkanker. Maar het goede nieuws was dat het behandelbaar was.
Met diverse haperingen lukte dat ook, waarna ze anderhalve week geleden acuut ziek werd en een longabces bleek te hebben. En uitzaaiingen, ook in haar hoofd. Termijn: zes weken tot zes maanden, afhankelijk van de behandelingen en hoe goed die zouden aanslaan. Over een of twee weken starten met bestralingen, om de tijd die ze nog had zo goed mogelijk te maken en wat te rekken. En nog een paar dagen naar het vaste vakantieadres, nog even genieten zoals ze dat zo goed kon.
Vorige week zondag bezochten we haar. Ze was moe, ze was ziek, ze had pijn, ze was optimistisch hoewel realistisch en ze was haar humor nog lang niet kwijt.
We telden de morfine en de antibiotica uit, we hadden lol, maakten een bakje yoghurt waarvan ze twee muizenhapjes wegkreeg, we kletsten, we hielden het bakje op toen de yoghurt er weer uit kwam, wreven haar rug in, haalden herinneringen op, bekeken haar kunst, hielden haar vast toen ze een heftige pijnaanval kreeg.
Het was geen afscheid, hielden we allemaal vol toen we weg gingen.
Gisteren kwam een mail van haar man, die meldde dat ze die ochtend overleden was.
Gevloekt, gehuild, het nieuws doorgegeven aan vrienden, naar bed om daar wakker te liggen. Blij dat we haar nog gezien hebben. Woedend dat het zo snel is gegaan. Opgelucht dat ze niet langer heeft hoeven lijden. Verward, boos, verdrietig, bezorgd over haar gezin.
Net een deelnemingskaart gekocht bij de Bruna. En een postzegel erbij, ja, ik wéét dat die per 10 gaan, kan mij dat schelen. De kassadame overhandigde me een velletje met groene zegels, met onder andere 'Samen naar een duurzame toekomst', waarop ik zei dat die me niet geschikt leken voor een rouwkaart en ik met excuses een velletje neutrale Bea's kreeg.
De uitnodigingen voor de crematie worden vandaag verstuurd.
Ik zet de radio aan en hoor eigenlijk hetzelfde nieuws als gisteren. Maar dat kan niet. Want de wereld is veranderd. Mijn wereld in elk geval wel. Het weer heeft zich vandaag ook aangepast aan mijn stemming: grijs, grauw, weinig licht, af en toe wat motregen. Ik blijf het maar koud hebben, ook met de verwarming hoog en twee truien aan, ben moe, schiet van huilbui naar genieten van een mooie foto naar weer tranen, van woede naar zin om met m'n kop tegen de muur te slaan naar - ja, naar wat eigenlijk?
Zij heeft er niets meer aan. De achterblijvers moeten verder. Ik weet nu alleen even niet hoe.
Dag Liesbeth. Je laat een grote leegte achter in mijn hart, maar ik ben blij dat ik je heb mogen kennen. Je was een bijzonder mens.

Gisteren ben ik in de watten gelegd met een aantal nieuwe planten. Maar foto's maken valt niet altijd mee:

Toen ik op het achterpad foto's maakte, hielden Tom en Tijger me gezelschap, waarbij Tom Tijger scherp in de gaten hield

Er had zich een studentenvereniging gemeld bij Stichting Present. Zij wilden letterlijk en figuurlijk een ontgroening doen ;-)
Wat dan uitermate gênant is: een buur van een eind verderop die naar die keihard zwoegende jongelui kijkt en vraagt of dat nou jongeren met een taakstraf zijn.
Andere buur maakte dat later een beetje goed door te zeggen dat ie ook wel zo'n groepje langs wilde hebben.
Ik ben in elk geval vreselijk blij met hun hulp, en dat heb ik ook uitdrukkelijk en veelvuldig gezegd :-)

Een lange post over de tuin. De tuin die flink in de vernieling was geholpen door het bouwbedrijf dat nog steeds niet over de brug komt met een schadevergoeding - maar inmiddels heeft de woningbouwvereniging voor een deel een oplossing gevonden.
Hier een verslag.

Er stond een es voor de deur van de tuin naar het achterpad. Die was al eens teruggezet, maar natuurlijk weer uitgelopen. Hij ging steeds meer in de weg staan en moest gewoon weg. Daarnaast waren er 3 coniferen geplant in 1985, naast het terras, voor schaduw. Werkte uitstekend, maar toen ik hier in 2000 kwam wonen, waren ze al niet snoeibaar meer, omdat dat nooit eerder gebeurd was. Nu, in 2011, reikte de hoogste al tot de derde verdieping.
Daarnaast was de sering nooit gesnoeid (ook niet door mij), met als resultaat dit jaar wel helemaal één bloem, de aucuba ernaast kon ook wel flink teruggesnoeid worden, de vlinderstruik daarnaast zou in maart radicaal gesnoeid moeten worden - die had nog wel veel bloemen - bovenin -, maar de drie genoemde struiken werden inmiddels ook steeds meer overwoekerd door bosrank, wilde clematis die ik graag kwijt wil.
De wbv meldde dat via een project en een bijdrage van de wbv zelf een hovenier geregeld kon worden plus een stel studenten, die me konden helpen. Coniferen weghalen? Neenee zei de wbv, dat doen ze niet.
De volgende dag kwam meneer T. van de wbv met de hovenier: 'Coniferen weghalen? Geen probleem. Leggen we daar wat graszoden neer, en breiden we dat terras een beetje uit, ehm, u heeft 50x50 tegels liggen, ik heb alleen 30x30, is dat een probleem?' Geen probleem ;-)
We maakten een afspraak, maar een week voor die tijd schoot ik ineens m'n bed uit van het geluid van een kettingzaag in de tuin: 'Ja, die coniferen moeten wel weg voor die studenten komen'. Prima, geen probleem ;-)
