Four men have been charged with conning an American tourist in Bangkok into buying wads of black paper claiming they could be turned into US dollars worth £620,000. Police did not, however, recover the £20,000 that the 63-year-old tourist, Robert Francis Riddle, paid for the "black money."
Police said the four were from Kenya, Liberia and Guinea. They were charged with fraud and face up to three years in prison if convicted.
